Our Story
Venture is a collaboration among seasoned musicians (all members of other bands) who wanted to work on a project that was a little off the beaten path - there isn't much overlap between Venture's repertoire and the songs we play in our other groups!
The group was conceived in 2022 by Triangle music scene veteran Randy Sapp (401 South) as a band that would perform a catalog of songs from the late 70's and early 80's which, although popular, are underrepresented in the cover band scene.
The fivesome is rounded out by Jeff Abate (Will McBride, Beggars Banquet), Chris Reed (Brake Tyme Band), Steve Jackson (Cruis-O-Matic, Big Head Dog) and Dan Lowenberg.

The band places a high emphasis on performing the songs as near replications of the original recorded versions, positioning Venture as a tribute to the Arena Rock genre of the 70s and early 80s.
